My path to Alexander Technique
My journey to personal growth began with an injury I sustained during my youth while studying classical and contemporary dance. It was during this time that I decided to explore Hatha Yoga, and I was fortunate to find a wonderful teacher named Silvia Francesca Sferlazzo. Silvia is known for being a student of Dona Holleman and was a certified Yoga and Alexander Technique Teacher.
Under Silvia’s guidance, I discovered effortlessness in movements, and as a result, my injury began to heal. Inspired by this transformation, I decided to take my commitment to the Alexander Technique to the next level. I enrolled in the Alexander Technique School in Amsterdam, on my studies under the guidance of Paul Versteeg and Tessa Marwic. Throughout my time there, I had the privilege of learning from various visiting teachers and moderators, including Anne Battye and Elisabeth Walker, who was a direct student of F.M. Alexander himself. This enriching experience deepened my understanding of the Alexander Technique and allowed me to continue my journey toward personal growth.
Traning And Development
After a year and a half, I made the decision to relocate to Paris to further my studies in the Alexander Technique. There, I continued my learning journey under the guidance of Astrid Cox, alongside other esteemed teachers and moderators such as Peter Ribeaux and Andrea Beesley. This new chapter of my education allowed me to delve even deeper into the intricacies of the Alexander Technique.
I decided to specialize in the application of the Alexander Technique to various activities, including running, swimming, horseback riding, and childbirth. These specialized studies expanded my expertise in the practice of the Alexander Technique, enabling me to help individuals in diverse areas of their lives.
In addition to my Alexander Technique studies, I ventured into complementary healing modalities. I became accredited in Restorative Yoga, Yin Yoga, Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), and Mindful Yoga. These practices complemented my knowledge of the Alexander Technique and allowed me to offer a broader range of healing approaches to those seeking support on their wellness journey.
Furthermore, I delved into the realm of massage therapies, acquiring expertise in Ayurvedic Massage, Fuji Stone Massage, and the Ingham Method of Foot Reflexology. These modalities provided me with additional tools to assist individuals in achieving a state of balance and well-being.
Currently, my exploration of healing modalities has led me to the world of Sound Healing, particularly with the use of Tibetan Singing Bowls. This practice harnesses the power of sound to restore vibrancy to the body and promote overall health and well-being.
